8th Grade Parents/Students
DHS counselors are now prepared to meet with all of the 8th graders individually to review and prepare their courses for next year.  All current 8th graders need to schedule an appointment with their freshman counselor. Appointments are now through March 26. Appointments are scheduled by selecting and saving a time slot labeled "Incoming Freshman Registration" from their counselor's google calendar.  There are three counselors.  Please select the correct counselor when making your appointment.  All current AVID students will register with Mrs. Moore.  All students that applied to New Tech need to schedule with Mrs. Leverenz.  Everyone else will schedule with Ms. LeMier.  Links to their google calendars are hyperlinked below.

Erin’s Law
Erin’s Law is named after childhood sexual assault survivor, author, speaker and activist Erin Merryn. Erin’s Law (in Illinois, Public Act 96-1524) mandates that Illinois public schools provide training to certified staff on prevention of child sexual abuse. It also mandates that public school children pre-kindergarten through 12th grade be educated on how to protect themselves from sexual abuse. Students learn age-appropriate techniques to recognize child sexual abuse and tell a trusted adult. School personnel learn about child sexual abuse. Any questions or concerns can be addressed by building administrators, guidance counselors or school social workers.
